Hello Jefferson Teachers and Jefferson Families!!

 

First off we would like to start by saying welcome back and THANK YOU for all of the countless hours and hard work you have already put into starting a fresh new school year, however that may look. Our hats are off to you for persevering over the last couple school years and dealing with teaching during a pandemic, your efforts have been truly amazing!

 

We are your newly elected Jefferson PTA board and we would like to introduce ourselves and ask for your input on how we can support you and the kiddos at Jefferson.

Your 2022/2023 PTA board is:

Tanya Galloway, President - tanya.jeffersonpta@gmail.com -For the past 2 years I have been working as an Instructional Aide Substitute at Jefferson and prior to that I served on the PTA board as Treasurer for 2 years, Before the Pandemic I was a very active volunteer in both my children's classes and very much enjoyed being involved and having a presence on campus. I look forward to the kids being able to return to full in person learning and am excited to hear how we can best help support you as teachers to make this a great year.

Shannon Galloway, Vice President - shannon.jeffersonpta@gmail.com - I am a returning PTA board member since 2016. I love being a part of my children's classroom and volunteering time on campus wherever I am needed. Looking forward to a new school year full of greater opportunity for our students here at Jefferson, with our new principal, Mr. Evans, leading the way!

Nicole Bird, VP Membership - nicole.jeffersonpta@gmail.com - This will be my first year serving on the PTA board and I am super excited to make it a successful one.

Angela Olsen, Treasurer - angela.jeffersonpta@gmail.com - a returning PTA board member and volunteer, as well as the Health Tech for the JES campus and district COVID Coordinator.

Excited to continue supporting our amazing kiddos and school community.

Elyce Ostermann , Secretary -Elycemiedema@yahoo.com -  It is my first time serving on the PTA board and I have previously volunteered as a member. I work Full Time in Cloverdale as a Dental Hygienist. I'm so excited to work with this group of dynamic, hardworking people on the Jefferson PTA as well as the exceptional staff at Jefferson!

Kasey Lands, Historian, Yearbook Committee - kasey.jeffersonpta@gmail.com - I love volunteering at Jefferson any way I can with lots of energy and school spirit. This is my 4th year coordinating the Book Fair, fulfilling classroom wish lists and smiles on the children's faces. Last year I adventured out and accepted the yearbook position and couldn't be more excited. Smiles are contagious and times have changed, but the presence of joy can heal any hardship and light up your day. Together again we will conquer this school year and make the impossible, possible. Be sure to send me all your classroom pictures anytime!

 

Even though we may be allowed to meet on campus this year, we plan to stick to hosting our PTA meetings via zoom this year in hopes that it will make it easier for parents and staff to attend.

 

We realize that this school year will most likely not be completely back to normal but we are excited to work with you to see how we can positively impact the lives of the students at Jefferson Elementary, whatever the circumstances may be.

We’d love to hear your ideas for fundraisers, programs, and events you think would enrich the lives of Jefferson students and their families. No idea is too big or too small! We can’t guarantee we’ll do them all but now is the time to brainstorm as we plan for the upcoming school year so we can hit the ground running when school starts again. Please reply to this email with your thoughts/ideas!

¡Hola maestros de Jefferson y familias de Jefferson!

 

En primer lugar, nos gustaría comenzar diciendo bienvenido de nuevo y GRACIAS por todas las innumerables horas y el arduo trabajo que ya ha puesto para comenzar un nuevo año escolar, como sea que parezca. Nos quitamos el sombrero ante ustedes por perseverar durante los últimos dos años escolares y lidiar con la enseñanza durante una pandemia, ¡sus esfuerzos han sido realmente asombrosos! 

 

Somos su junta directiva de la PTA de Jefferson recién elegida y nos gustaría presentarnos y pedir su opinión sobre cómo podemos apoyarlos a usted y a los niños de Jefferson.

Su junta de la PTA 2022/2023 es:

Tanya Galloway, Presidenta - tanya.jeffersonpta@gmail.com - Durante los últimos 2 años, he estado trabajando como sustituto de asistente de instrucción en Jefferson y antes de eso serví en la junta de la PTA como tesorero durante 2 años. Antes de la pandemia, era un voluntario muy activo en las clases de mis hijos y disfrutaba mucho estar involucrado y tener presencia en el campus. Espero que los niños puedan regresar al aprendizaje completo en persona y estoy emocionado de saber cómo podemos ayudarlos mejor como maestros para que este sea un gran año.

Shannon Galloway, Vicepresidente - shannon.jeffersonpta@gmail.com -  Soy un miembro de la junta de la PTA que regresa desde 2016. Me encanta ser parte del salón de clases de mis hijos y el tiempo de voluntariado en el campus donde sea que me necesiten. ¡Esperamos un nuevo año escolar lleno de mayores oportunidades para nuestros estudiantes aquí en Jefferson, con nuestro nuevo director, el Sr. Evans, liderando el camino!

Elyce Ostermann, Secretaria -Elycemiedema@yahoo.com -  Es la primera vez que sirvo en la junta de la PTA y anteriormente me ofrecí como miembro. Trabajo a tiempo completo en Cloverdale como higienista dental. ¡Estoy muy emocionado de trabajar con este grupo de personas dinámicas y trabajadoras en la PTA de Jefferson, así como con el personal excepcional de Jefferson!

Kasey Lands, Historiadora, Comité del Anuario -  Me encanta ser voluntario en Jefferson de cualquier forma que pueda con mucha energía y espíritu escolar. Este es mi cuarto año coordinando la Feria del Libro, cumpliendo con las listas de deseos del salón y sonrisas en los rostros de los niños. El año pasado me aventuré y acepté el puesto en el anuario y no podría estar más emocionado. Las sonrisas son contagiosas y los tiempos han cambiado, pero la presencia de la alegría puede curar cualquier dificultad e iluminar tu día. Juntos de nuevo conquistaremos este año escolar y haremos posible lo imposible. ¡Asegúrese de enviarme todas las fotos de su salón de clases en cualquier momento!

 

Aunque se nos permita reunirnos en el campus este año, planeamos mantener nuestras reuniones de la PTA a través de zoom este año con la esperanza de que sea más fácil para los padres y el personal asistir.

 

Nos damos cuenta de que lo más probable es que este año escolar no vuelva completamente a la normalidad, pero estamos emocionados de trabajar con usted para ver cómo podemos impactar positivamente las vidas de los estudiantes de la Primaria Jefferson, sean cuales sean las circunstancias.

Nos encantaría escuchar sus ideas para recaudaciones de fondos, programas y eventos que cree que enriquecerían la vida de los estudiantes de Jefferson y sus familias. ¡Ninguna idea es demasiado grande o demasiado pequeña! No podemos garantizar que los haremos todos, pero ahora es el momento de hacer una lluvia de ideas mientras planificamos el próximo año escolar para que podamos empezar a trabajar cuando las clases comiencen de nuevo.
