English Language Learners
The district is currently working on a specific vision for our Multilingual learners. Please check back later for an updated vision.
Each School Site has an English Learner Advisory Committee. Each committee is composed of the parents or guardians of English Learners and they are responsible for the following tasks:
- Advising the principal and staff in the development of a site plan for English learners and submitting the plan to the School Site Council for consideration of inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement.
- Assisting in the development of the schoolwide needs assessment.
- Ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.
- Each ELAC shall have the opportunity to elect at least one member to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC). Districts with 31 or more ELACs may use a system of proportional or regional representation.
For more information on the ELAC at each school site, please see the links to the left.
Cloverdale Unified is working on updating the English Learner Master Plan. A team of administrators, teachers, and staff are attending training this year to both update the plan and create a vision for English Learners in Cloverdale. The DELAC and ELACs will be providing feedback at their future meetings. Please attend to participate in the development of our plan.
