Social and Emotional Support
Team Success is an on-campus resource center that students can access for support. We can refer you to community resources or another part of Team Success based on your specific needs, and we can provide one-on-one counseling support. Students may come to Team Success for a range of reasons, including:
- Working through problems with family or friends.
- Seeking help with academics.
- Thinking through plans for the future.
- Dealing with alcohol or drug use problems.
Through the various programs offered by Team Success, we have two overarching goals:
- To increase knowledge and awareness of mental health topics, school connectedness, and access to resources.
- To decrease isolation, untreated mental illness, and stigma of mental health on campuses.
High school can be fun and exciting, but it can also be a very challenging and confusing time in your life. Sometimes just talking to someone can provide relief and clarity, and help you get through the challenging times. Team Success can provide that support, in a confidential and caring space, when you need it.
Bring Change to Mind’s High School Program (in partnership with Team Success) gives teens a platform to share their voices and raise awareness around mental health. Our goal is to empower students to educate one another, and their communities, and to create a culture of peer support within their schools. Together, we’ll fight the stigma around mental illness.
Ways to Get Involved with Team Success
SignUp for a Group
This is a group available to anyone who would like to learn more about emotions: what they are, why they arise, and how to work with them. This is an educational group, so students will not be asked to share personal details about their lives. Instead, we’ll focus on increasing our emotional skills and awareness.
This is a group for students who are new to Cloverdale and Cloverdale High School (CHS). This group helps students get acclimated to CHS and supports students in the transition from their old school and town to this new environment. Each group is based on the specific needs of the students in the group, but topics may include:
- Transitioning from old friendships and meeting new friends.
- Adjusting to a new town and school environment.
- Navigating changes in academics, classes, and teachers.
This group is designed as a support for seniors to help them navigate their senior year. Each group forms to meet the specific dynamics of the members in the group, but general topics include:
- Academic support and getting prepared to graduate
- College, work, trade school, and looking forward to a career
- Resume creation and interview skill-building
- The transition from high school to life after high school: living, working, schooling, etc.
- Explore how family relationships and friendships are changing
The BC2M Club is starting in early October and we’d love to have you join. We have a fun and exciting year planned ahead, including an opportunity to attend the free student summit in San Francisco this November! Let Amanda, Sarah, or Ms. Abshier know if you are interested in joining, and we’ll sign you up and invite you to our first meeting.
